The Rev. Paul D. Martin was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio. A lifelong Episcopalian he was involved in many aspects of the Church growing up. After graduating from Wabash College with dual majors in Religion and Music, he went to seminary at the University of the South, Sewanee receiving his M.Div. (Fr. Martin worked on his D. Min. from Sewanee.) Upon graduating from Sewanee, he was ordained Deacon in Indianapolis June 11, 1975, but did his deacon’s year at Coventry Cathedral, Coventry England. Fr. Martin was ordained priest at Coventry Cathedral on June 29 th , 1976.

After leaving Coventry Cathedral, Fr. Martin served a parish in the southern suburbs of London, St. Phillip’s, Norbury which was part of the Diocese of Canterbury at that time, Archbishop Donald Coggin being his Diocesan. In 1980, Fr. Martin and his family moved to serve at St. John’s, Charlotte NC where he was a full time youth minister. In 1990 he moved to be Rector at St. John’s, Minden LA, then as Rector at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, Lafayette LA, then in 1997 moved to be youth minister at St. Paul’s, Shreveport. Fr. Martin became Rector of St. Paul’s May, 2012. Upon his mandatory retirement in 2021, he recently has accepted a position at St. Mark’s Cathedral as Priest Resident.
