Our Choir Program for Children, Youth and Adults
Psallam spiritu et mente “I will sing with the spirit and with the understanding also.” I Corinthians 14:15

Our choir includes children from 2nd grade – adults. It is a vital leader of ministry in this parish, not only offering gifts of choral music at Sunday services and major feasts of the church, leading the congregation in our Prayer Book worship, being an effective “small group ministry” in a large church family, but also extending its ministry as evangelists in our community, the diocese, and the world.
Singing is a skill that can be encouraged and developed in every individual, especially young people. At St. Mark’s, we try to assist all people who would like to sing in mastering these skills. Through disciplined work, a person who has never sung in a choir can become a valued member of the choir community.
For young people, our choir gives them an active means of self-expression to God, outstanding musical training, excellent group participation, new friendships with peers in our church, and a strong framework in the worship and music of our church. Each child develops at his or her own pace using an effective training model of The Royal School of Church Music based in England. This training scheme is called “Voice for Life” and helps singers of all ages prepare for a life full of song!
