What We Believe

We believe that Jesus loves us.  That’s where it all starts.

Our worship.  Our study.  Our fellowship.  Our outreach.  Our care for each other.

We’re just responding to the most extravagant love you could possibly imagine.

Once you begin to experience that love, some pretty remarkable things start happening in your life.  St. Paul calls it the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23)

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about discovering joy and hope in our daily walk.  We’ve all stumbled at some point along the way.  Actually, most of us stumble on a daily basis.

Here at St. Mark’s we know that Jesus walks along with us.  He helps to steady us when we’re wobbly and picks us back up when we’ve fallen flat on our face.

Despite what you might hear in the media or what you might have experienced somewhere else, Jesus is not aiming to make us guilt-ridden and judgmental.  He wants to make us really alive, free from fear and open to the blessings he has in store for us.

Our mission at St. Mark’s Cathedral is to help each member experience Jesus as a life-giving presence in his or her life.  We seek to be his healing hands and feet in our community.  And we show his love to each other.  We’re a family.

On this website you’ll find lots of information about worship, outreach and fellowship.  You can read about our programs for children, youth, young adults and families, empty nest adults, and older adults.

When you come through our doors, you’re part of the family, too.  Whether you’re looking for a church home or just passing through, we want you to feel at home.  We can’t wait to see you!
