The Senior Warden and members of the Vestry - will be at all three services this Sunday to give an update on the search for our new Dean. You don’t want to miss this announcement!

Last weekend’s Consecration of Bishop Jake as the Fourth Bishop of Western Louisiana - was a glorious celebration that involved the entire Diocese and hundreds of participants from all over the United States. Our sincere thanks to all the St. Mark’s family who were involved and who attended. It was a magnificent day in the life of our Cathedral and Diocese!

The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana needs volunteers - to sort food items and pack boxes for pickup.  St. Mark’s will be helping the Food Bank sort and pack this Saturday, July 28 from 9:00 am till 11:00 am.  The Food Bank is located at 2307 Texas Avenue, Shreveport.  We need 10-20 people.  If you are interested in helping, or have questions about this event, contact Jennifer Beruvides at  jennifer@stmarkscathedral.net.

The next Pre-Baptismal meeting is August 5  -immediately after the 10:00 am service in the Dean’s office. This is the only meeting before the August 26 Baptismal date. If you would like to schedule a date for a Baptism, please call Liz Montelepre at 226-4031.

Baptismal dates for the rest of this year are:
August 26
September 30
November 4
December 2

Youth Week will kick off this Sunday with our family potluck. - This is going to be a great evening. We will eat and watch a slide show from last year, and Brooks will talk about the upcoming year and events. Then we will have Brooks’ good friend, Faith Piper, perform a concert for us.
Faith is a brilliant musician who is currently a music leader at two churches in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Everyone is invited to come join us Sunday and to bring a friend. This will be a great experience for everyone, as well as a great opportunity to get involved and see what we do.
The event starts at 5:30 pm.
The rest of youth week, will allow the youth a chance to end their summer with a bang.

It’s hard to believe, but the new Christian Formation program year is just around the corner! – So mark your calendars for a couple of August events. There will be a Prime Time teachers’ breakfast meeting in the Parlor on August 19 at 8:45 am. Prime Time is a wonderful way to be involved in a vital ministry with the first through third grade children in our church. The purpose of Prime Time is to provide an alternative to the church sermon for our young elementary age children. A team of two adult volunteers is assigned to work together for the year and will typically switch off leadership duties during the year. For more information, contact Susan Campbell (393-5555 or Campbell.phd@gmail.com) or Joy Owensby (226-4029 or joy@stmarkscathedral.net).
A teacher lunch and training is August 26 at 11:30 am in the Garden Room of the Ministry Center.
