New classes will begin on Oct. 24 in both the Lion’s Pride and Adult Forum. These classes will run through Nov. 21.

Adult Forum hosts TrAction: Discipleship in the Real World, taught by the Rev. Canon Andrew Benko
When Jesus calls his disciples, he doesn’t place an ad in the Palestinian classified: “Disciples wanted.” Jesus finds people engaged in the activities of their everyday lives – at work, at home, travelling, drawing water. He meets people where they are, and only then calls them to walk alongside him. This class will explore how we can respond to Jesus’ call to follow him in the here and now, in “the real world.” In the midst of our workaday lives, Christ calls us to follow, to learn, to act, and to attract others. This class will meet in room 101.

Lion’s Pride hosts Holy Relics: Sorting the Sacred from the Silly, taught by Dr. Cheryl White
From Christianity’s rich history come tales of venerated objects; some sincere and intriguing, others ridiculous and laughable. Is the Shroud of Turin the actual burial cloth of Jesus? Does Notre Dame Cathedral have the real Crown of Thorns? What became of the legendary Holy Grail? And…how many heads did John the Baptist really have? This class will meet in the Garden Room.
