So Long, Farewell, Auf wiedersehen, Goodbye…

When Samantha, Miles, Grace Anne, Emma and I arrived at St. Mark’s two
years ago, we were not sure what to expect. Fresh out of seminary, moving back to the South once again, we trusted that the Bishop knew what was right for us and for the Cathedral. I dare say, the last two years have proved that trust to be well placed.

From the first, the people of St. Mark’s welcomed us and made us feel as if we were truly home.

The Grace of God and the fullness of time now calls us to service in another parish, but this is how it should be. It is for this that I was called to be a priest.

Effective June 1, 2010, I will become the Priest in Charge (Under Special Circumstances) at Christ Memorial, Mansfield. We are all very excited at this opportunity to minister to God’s people in a new place, but one not too far removed from our adopted home of Shreveport.

No matter where we go, no matter what we do, the Millard family will always carry with us many happy memories of our time at St. Mark’s.

God bless you and keep you; God make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you; God lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

– Fr. Michael
